Terms of service

Jakadi is a free community app for remembering when local festivals happen. These terms set out what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you.

Last updated: 8 September 2026

1. Who we are

Jakadi ("Jakadi", "we", "us") is operated by Magicabilides Uni LDA, Rua Cunha Junior 137, Porto, Portugal. You can reach us at contact@gruion.com.

2. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use Jakadi. You must be at least 13 years old to hold an account.

3. What Jakadi is — and is not

Jakadi collects and displays what its community knows about local festivals: when they are expected, when they have been confirmed, and how confident that information is. It is not an official calendar, it is not operated by any municipality, parish, church or festival committee, and it does not speak for the organisers of any event.

The service is provided free of charge. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time.

4. No warranty on dates

This is the most important clause on this page. Festival dates in Jakadi are community-sourced estimates. Many are predictions derived from previous years. Others are claims made by individual contributors that may be mistaken, out of date, or disputed. Even a date marked as officially confirmed can be changed or cancelled by its organisers at short notice, without that change reaching us.

Jakadi therefore gives no warranty, express or implied, that any date, time, location or other detail shown in the app is accurate, complete or current. The confidence level shown alongside a date is our honest estimate of how well supported it is — it is not a guarantee.

Always check with the organisers before travelling, booking or spending money on the strength of anything you read in Jakadi. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, cost or disappointment arising from reliance on information in the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

5. Acceptable use

When using Jakadi you agree not to:

We may remove content, reverse contributions, reduce a contributor's standing, or suspend an account where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken.

6. Your content and the licence you give us

You keep ownership of everything you contribute — date claims, evidence, answers, photographs, descriptions and comments. We do not claim it as ours.

By contributing, you grant Jakadi a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for formatting and moderation), translate and display that content within the app and on our websites, for as long as we operate the service, so that it can be shown to other users. This licence exists solely so we can run Jakadi; we do not sell your contributions or license them onward for advertising.

You confirm that you have the right to contribute what you submit, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.

Because Jakadi is a shared record, contributions are append-only: claims are superseded rather than deleted, so the history of how a date came to be trusted stays auditable. If you delete your account, contributions that others rely on remain in anonymised form, attributed to "a former member". See the account deletion page for details.

7. Our content

The Jakadi name, mark, design and software are ours and are protected by intellectual property law. These terms give you a personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the app; they do not transfer any ownership.

8. Reporting problems

If you see a date you believe is wrong, correct it in the app — that is what it is for. If you see content that infringes your rights or breaks the rules above, contact contact@gruion.com and we will review it.

9. Ending your use

You may stop using Jakadi and delete your account at any time, in Profile → Settings → Delete account. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these terms, that we are legally required to remove, or that is being used to damage the accuracy of the record. Where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here and, where the change is significant, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Jakadi after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, and the courts of Porto, Portugal have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country.
